Installation Guide

Choosing your interior door size

First choose prehung or slab only. The size you select relates to the actual door dimensions differently for each option.

Prehung: The actual door is 1/4 inch narrower and 1/8 inch shorter than the selected size. The required rough opening is 2 inches wider and 2 1/2 inches taller than the selected size.
Prehung example: Selecting 36 × 80 inches gives an actual door measuring 35 3/4 × 79 7/8 inches and requires a 38 × 82 1/2 inch rough opening.
Slab only: The selected width and height are the actual door dimensions. Do not use the prehung rough-opening allowances to choose a slab size.

Prehung jamb legs: Extend 1 1/4 inches below the door to allow trimming for new construction or remodeling.

If you are unsure which size to order, contact us with your measurements and whether you are replacing a door slab or installing a prehung unit.

What’s included with slab only

The interior slab-only option includes the door slab only. It does not include a jamb, hinges, or other hardware.

Beautiful Door. Outstanding Follow-Up Support.

I spent over $5,000 on a custom door from Dalmatian Doors. The door itself is absolutely beautiful. The craftsmanship is solid, the wood quality is excellent, and once installed and trimmed out, it completely transformed the space. From a product standpoint, it looks fantastic.

★★★★★
Absolutely beautiful 4 by-pass doors with the frosted glass. I messaged with them pretty intensively prior to ordering to make sure all of the measurements were correct. Their representatives were responsive, knowledgeable and patient. These doors exceeded my expectations. Well made, handled and shipped with care. My pantry looks awesome.

I ordered the five lite bifold doors And built a cased opening to divide two large rooms. It worked beautifully. The customer service communication was excellent. I was provided drawings before they produced the doors. Shipping went smoothly and overall I was impressed with the product. Everyone who sees them loves the doors. Highly recommend but would strongly suggest a professional do the installation.

We are SO happy with the bypass doors we bought from Dalmatian Doors and Woodworking. They are solid, and you can tell they were made with quality materials. We ran into a small issue with drilling them into the ceiling (due to the location of the stud), but we just added an additional wood panel (stud) in our attic so the doors would be securely drilled through the ceiling. After that, it was very easy to hang the doors. I am 'in love' with the final new look of my home office. I would definitely buy again from Dalmatian Doors!!!
